Senior Finance Manager

Your place at the Lily’s Kitchen Table: -

As a Senior Finance Manager you will be part of a team of six and report into the Financial Controller and act as a strong number two to the Financial Controller.

You will look at the ways of working and be a change agent, pushing boundaries within Finance, you will be audacious and innovative in your approach, improving procedures and process.

You will be an expert in managing teams and getting the best from your people whilst developing and coaching them to succeed.

As part of your role you will provide an accurate, up to date financial picture of our periodic performance, to support and assist the senior leadership team in making key decisions, these will shape the overall strategy and direction of Lily’s Kitchen.

We have some exciting growth plans ahead of us over the next 3 years and you will have the opportunity to be involved in innovative Finance projects that will support this and help drive our business forward.

How will I make a difference?

You will: -


  • Lead, manage, develop and coach a team of three soon to be four team, supporting them with personal development, welfare, general queries, morale and motivation
  • Set team and individual KPI’s for review with the Financial Controller
  • Continuously check in with the team to ensure team KPI’s are on track
  • Manage the yearly appraisal process


  • Provide recommendation and implement effective financial processes and procedures to support strategic growth
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts tight deadlines
  • Regular reporting on the commercials and insightful analyses on the business, profitability and KPI management
  • Continuous improvements on management reporting that is provided for the wider business
  • Manage all legislative requirements within Finance
  • Support the Financial Controller managing monthly payroll process and input via external payroll provider.
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Produce and arrange R&D file for review
  • Construct, collate and distribute commentary for P&L variances
  • Assist Financial Controller with annual budget preparation
  • Ensure all general Finance processes are documented and accurately recorded in preparation for audit
  • Project manage the implementation of a new Finance and ERP systems
  • Introduction of new ways of working to become more efficient
  • Providing analysis and advice on smart cost saving initiatives into key international markets
  • Support the international expansion of the business in

Accounts Payable

  • Manage and oversee our Accounts Payable division, always investigating new and efficient ways of working that will improve the teams overall productivity
  • Authorise invoices and payment

Credit Control

  • Manage and oversee the team to ensure timely receipt of customer payment and outstanding customer relationship management
  • Act as an escalation point, in handling difficult conversations
  • Monitor and review weekly Accounts Receivable reports ahead of communication to internal stakeholders

How will I be successful?

  • A strong background operating at a Finance Manager level, ACCA or CIMA qualified, ideally experience of working in an FMCG private equity backed environment
  • Educated at to degree level
  • As far as business-jargon goes, our best practice learnings signal a need for a PFP (passion for pets)
  • A systems head with experience using NetSuite would be an advantage.
  • You’ll have an endearingly geeky affinity for Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and know your V look ups from your pivot tables. (advanced level)
  • You’ll be well practiced at using your initiative, have a can-do attitude and will be peachy keen to learn and grow.
  • It’s faster paced than a team of huskies here at Lily’s Kitchen. You’ll need to be comfortable and had experience with sitting on that fast moving sleigh
  • You’ll be better at communication than postman Pat with 12 phones and a carrier pigeon.
  • A strong planner and organisational skills to rival Monica Geller
  • Feel at ease in a creative and entrepreneurial environment
  • First class relationship management skills, and top notch interpersonal skills
  • Ability to see and manage the bigger picture whilst holding and attending to the detail
  • Results get you excited and you will be driven to achieve them
